Dr Christine McTigue studied medicine at the University of Sydney and obtained her pathology fellowship in 1990 after training at Prince Henry's, the Queen Victoria and Monash Medical Centre, Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and the Royal Children's Hospital. Subsequently she worked at the Royal Children's Hospital and then spent time at the Gippsland Base and Warrnambool Base Hospitals before turning to private practice in Melbourne in 1998. She has been working at Dorevitch for the past 10 years, based at Frankston Hospital.
Dr McTigue is a clinical instructor for the Monash postgraduate program.
Her special interests include dermatopathology, breast pathology, paediatric pathology, fine needle aspiration cytology and teaching.
