Dr Jenny Wong graduated from University of Otago in 1998 with MbChB and has worked in various hospitals and the Family Planning Clinic in Christchurch. She obtained Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before undergoing Medical Microbiology training at the Canterbury Health Laboratories (Christchurch). She worked as Senior Microbiology and Infection Prevention registrar at the Royal Melboume Hospital in 2010. After obtaining fellowship with Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) in 2011, she has worked as sessional Medical Microbiologist at the Royal Melboume Hospital and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
Dr Wong is a member of the American Society of Microbiology, Australian Society for Antimicrobials and Australian Society for Microbiology. She is based mainly at the Western Health Footscray laboratory and her area of special interest is in the detection and management of emerging antimicrobial resistance, improvement in microbiology diagnostics and Infection Control.
