Biography

Dr George Tzaikou graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedicine from the University of Melbourne in 2010, majoring in Physiology.

He subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD), also from the University of Melbourne in 2014.Dr Tzaikou initially worked at Bendigo Hospital as a junior doctor with rotations including general surgery, general medicine and emergency medicine. Following this he worked as an Anatomical Pathology registrar at Bendigo Hospital, Alfred Health and Melbourne Pathology, with a rotation through the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, gaining a wide range of experience in both public and private settings.

In early 2021 he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia and joined DOR Pathology.

His academic interests encompass general surgical pathology and cytopathology, including special interests in dermatopathology and gastrointestinal pathology.
