Biography

Dr Michael Gilbertson graduated with his MBBS from the University of Melbourne. In his final year he was awarded the Howard Williams prize in Paediatrics. Dr Gilbertson then began his clinical residency through the Royal Melbourne Hospital before starting training as a clinical haematologist at the Alfred Hospital and Monash Health. After moving back to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Dr Gilbertson trained as a laboratory haematologist and received his FRCPA and FRACP in 2012. Dr Gilbertson is currently pursuing a higher research degree by publication on “Aggressive Lymphoma”. A regular contributor to peer reviewed journals, Dr Gilbertson presents frequently at national and international conferences. He is a member of several comittees including, the Australian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group, the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
